What does it mean to convert my account?
Converting your account associates your eGroups with a Yahoo ID.
Who should convert their accounts?
Email-only users --
These are users who are receiving mail from a Yahoo! Group with an email address in this format:
groupname@yahoogroups.com
You can access your Group's web site by associating your current email subscription with a Yahoo! ID. All you have to do is use our Conversion Wizard.
Do I have to convert my account?
No. You only need to convert your account if you need use the web site to manage your Group, or to access web features that are designated for members only by your Group owner.
For example, email-only subscribers can read and post to their Groups without having to log in to the web site, so they won't need to link their accounts to a Yahoo! ID. However, those who normally post using the web form would have to go through the Conversion Wizard process. <http://groups.yahoo.com/convwiz>
I have multiple accounts with eGroups. Can I convert them all?
Yes! Just click on the Convert another account link at the end of the Conversion Wizard to link up to 5 email addresses to your Yahoo! ID.
What are the advantages of converting my account?
By associating multiple email addresses with your Yahoo ID, you can easily manage all of your accounts with one login. Now there's no more signing in and out to see your different subscriptions.
The biggest change will most likely be that list addresses are now listname@yahoogroups.com You'll need to update any filters you use for your mail.
You can link multiple e-mail accounts to one yahoo id which you need to get into the old egroups website. So if you have personal egroups lists at home and work ones at work, they are still separate but now more easily controlled.
