To the Game and Fisheries Committee,
I
DO NOT WANT BOBCATS TRAPPED OR HUNTED IN PENNSYLVANIA. MAKE THIS STOP IMMEDIATELY.
Despite protests, the Pennsylvania state Game Commission gave final
approval on Wednesday, April 5 to a bobcat hunting season starting this
October.
There hasn't been hunting or trapping permits issued in thirty years. There are ONLY 3000estimated bobcats in the state. There is no evidence
to suggest that bobcats are overpopulated, nor have had any negative
impact on the environment.Bobcats are natural predators of deer and
are nature's way of helping to control the deer population. You may
bethe one responsible for their extinction, which is immoral.
A commission spokesman said, that for years hunters have been asking
to hunt bobcats, the state's only feline predators. He added that besides
managing and preserving Pennsylvania's wildlife, officials are "charged
with searching for ways to provide unique hunting opportunities."
The Pennsylvania bobcat is not a nuisance species; they are not over
populated; the commission is also permitting trapping; and bobcats can
be hunted both during the day and at night.
I am a Pennsylvanian who does NOT want you to issue hunting and trapping permits to kill bobcats!
